With the continued expansion of the software technology sector in the southeast region, software product expert, Don Sedota, has created a new consulting firm to help software companies grow. SurgePath Consulting aims to help small and mid-sized software companies fuel growth, scalability and next-level business success through mature and scalable product management disciplines.
“One of the biggest challenges for an emerging software company is taking that important step of creating a formal product management discipline within the organization that can effectively drive the ongoing product strategy, execution, delivery and growth competencies that is so vital to their long term success,” said Sedota.

Prior to founding SurgePath, Sedota established a mature product organization at BoomTown, enabling the company to quickly scale and succeed at the next level as it consistently made the Inc. 500 | 5000 “Fastest Growing Company” list. Prior to BoomTown, Sedota provided critical product leadership at several software companies in Austin, TX, including Bazaarvoice where he pioneered the Bazaarvoice Intelligence product line and helped the company transition from private to public in 2012. Early in his career, he drove cutting edge software innovation across a variety of software products on IBM’s elite Emerging Technologies team. Sedota has also led business, marketing and technology consulting projects for a variety of brands, including the NFL’s Denver Broncos, MLB’s San Diego Padres, Travelocity and Dell. He serves as an expert product advisor for the Charleston Harbor Accelerator and is an entrepreneur coach for the Charleston Chamber of Commerce Perfect Pitch competition.
